History of Bank station

21st Feb 1986The City of London refused planning permission for the DLR to build a station at Bank, preferring a new station with travolator link to be built closer to Monument station on the District line.
Circa Dec 1971Construction work started in early Dec 1971 of a second staircase linking the Central and Northern lines to reduce congestion by separating ascending and descending passengers.
