CANCELLED - Hot air balloons to fly over central London

This event has finished Took place on: Sunday, 25th Jul 2021

 Free

CANCELLED - due to poor weather forecast

--

You may see up to 50 hot air balloons flying over Central London at sunrise this morning.

Weather permitting, the annual Lord Mayor’s Hot Air Balloon Regatta may take place first thing this morning -- as the hot air balloons fly over the centre of London.

For this year’s flight, they will be revisiting Battersea Park as the launch site.

You can't go on the balloons, and it's best to observe them from a fair distance as they lift-off over the park.

Due to the weather-dependent nature of hot air ballooning, this event is on standby for a Sunday morning and will proceed on the first available date when the weather is suitable.

The standby dates are Sunday June 6th & 13th and July 18th & 25th.

A decision will be announced on each Friday before the standby date circa 4pm.
